In our camp “Vacation with God” the children watched a play based on the book “The pancake cake”. It was much fun to spend time together with favorite characters of the book by Swedish children’s writer Sven Nordqvist! It was an unusual performance, because the children became its participants. They helped the heroes and even decorated a pie for Findus! There was an atmosphere of curiosity and restlessness. Young theatergoers could laugh loudly and dance to the music.
“The Pancake Cake” is the first book in the series about Findus and Petsan, created in 1984. The story is fascinating, you just can’t tear yourself away: Findus the cat likes to celebrate his birthday, and therefore he celebrates it three times a year. Patsan usually bakes a pancake cake on this day. This requires eggs, flour and milk. There is no flour at home, so Petsan needs to ride his bike to the store and buy it. But first-to repair the bike with tools lying in the workshop, the key to which turned out to be in the well. To get the key, you need to take a stepladder, clinging to which a terrible and evil bull sleeps…
An interactive production with games, singing and movements gave the children a lot of joy and fun!
