On February 11 (Saturday) at 12 o’clock we invite you to the Christian Social Center for the Holy Mass. On this day the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is given to all the sick and elderly people present.
In the Catholic Church the World Day of the Sick is celebrated on February 11, liturgical memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes. It is an initiative started by Pope Saint John Paul II. This day reminds of the duty of good care of the sick, the value awareness of patience of the sick in human and spiritual dimension. Any member of the faithful can receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick as soon as one begins to be in danger of death because of sickness or old age. Anyone who receives the Sacrament decently gets peace, strengthening and courage to accept suffering and sickness as a Christian.
The Holy Father`s message for the 31st World Day of the Sick is entitled “Take care of him. Compassion as a synodal exercise of healing”. The Pontiff invites to put the sick in the spotlight to be a community that truly walks together. He encourages to follow the example of the Good Samaritan, who had mercy upon a beaten and robbed man lying on the side of the road, did not pass, but helped him. Our Center is called the Mission of the Good Samaritan, so our main task is to help and be close to those who are suffering, waiting for help and support.
We cordially invite you to the Holy Mass, as well as the music program and treat.
