A march of lanterns in honour of St. Martin of Tours (MANY PHOTOS)

In honour of St. Martin of Tours, a Christian saint and a guardian of children, a celebration was held at the Mission.

It all started with a search of St. Martin. Children lit up their lanterns and went looking for him around the building of the Centre. St. Martin met them dressed in traditional knight armour and riding a scooter. Answering to children’s observation that it was not a horse, he said that a scooter can be easily transformed into a horse.

He was impressed with hand-made lanterns and let the children to try his helmet on, gave out some sweets, played games with them.

The children and their parents asked St. Martin to visit the Mission next year. We do hope he comes no matter what.
