Bus Pilgrimage on November 22nd.

The Christian Social Center invites you to a bus pilgrimage on November 22, 2025, along the route: Minsk – Rakaŭ – Duškava – Kijaviec – Tupaĺščyna – Praĺniki – Ivianiec – Minsk.

In Rakaŭ, we will visit the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary and Saint Dominic (1906). We will also see the place where, according to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared – the famous Rakov spring is located there now. We will not miss the opportunity to visit the local Transfiguration church (1793). We will learn why writer Eliza Ažeška called Rakaŭ the “Northern Athens”.
The mysterious place Duškava has preserved the remnants of the former estate of the Bulhakaŭ family. Here, there are unusual chapel-burials and an ancient wooden church.
The village of Kijaviec will greet us with a beautiful Church of the Holy Trinity. We will learn about its century-long history and how the shrine was returned to the faithful. In the 1930s, Kijaviec gained fame for the discovery of the grave of Ernest Hrodek, the teacher of the famous Adam Mickievič. In Tupaĺščyna, we will visit the burial site of Belarusian writer Vincent Dunin- Marcynkievič. We will learn about the life story of this remarkable person. Praĺniki will surprise us with an unusual rotunda church, as well as the complicated history of its shrine. In Ivianiec, we will visit two Catholic churches (the Church of Saint Alexius and the Church of Saint Michael the Archangel). We will see a small paradise garden with peacocks near one of the churches. We will see a large ancient bell literally found from underground. We will learn about the significant contributions made to Belarus by priests Achilies and Hierman, who served in Ivianiec (now counted among the blessed).
During the excursion, we will share stories about personalities and shrines and have the opportunity to participate in an informative quiz.
