Meeting within Framework of Educational Project for Consecrated Persons

On May 15, the Christian Social Center held the final meeting of the first year of the educational project aimed at increasing the personal competencies of consecrated persons.

At the May meeting, the teams presented the results of their work on the areas of activity for the first year of study in the form of presentations. The meeting was also attended by honored guests: Metropolitan of Minsk-Mahilyow, Archbishop Joseph Staneusky and his predecessor, Archbishop Emeritus Tadewush Kandrusevich.

Before the start of the meeting, the main coordinator of the project, priest Viktar Gaidukevich SDB, greeted all those present. The Salesian emphasized the great importance of the presence of hierarchs at the event, because, according to him, this support is a spiritual connection with the local Church, and also wished the teams success during the presentations. After that, the project curator and moderator of the meeting, Andrei Karalyow, announced the rules and procedure of the meeting.

Six teams presented their work in the following areas: catechesis, professional pastoral care of doctors, work with the media, work with youth and work with families.

The teams shared their developments, problems that exist in the mentioned areas, as well as personal experience. After each presentation, there was a discussion in which the hierarchs took an active part. They asked questions, shared their impressions of the presentations and made valuable comments.

When the performance of all the teams was over, a competent jury consisting of project speakers and representatives of the Coordinating Group of Superior Monastic Abbots gave their marks for the presentations and the work done. Each team received a certificate from Archbishop Staneusky for spending time together at various team-building events.

The senior pastor thanked everyone for participating in the program and wished them success for the next academic year.

“The defeats we overcame are part of our success. Therefore, do not be afraid, take courage, because happiness does not come by itself: you have to go for it. God’s blessing to all of you, work and study,” Archbishop Staneusky encouraged the participants of the project.

At the end of the meeting, priest Viktar Gaidukevich, on behalf of the organizing committee, presented small gifts to the hierarchs and members of the jury.

Sister Martselina Mihach ISSM spoke about the great work that was done to make the educational project real, and thanked all those who helped in this matter, especially priest Viktar Gaidukevich and sister Victoria Chekan.

The event ended with a community Eucharist.
