On July 19, the tour on the topic Helping a Neighbor ended. Together with their teachers, the children visited many interesting places and took part in meaningful activities.
In addition to the activities within the Mission and the visit to the house of the Ursuline Sisters, the pupils of our center visited:
– museum of science Quantum;
– children’s railway;
– tour of the historical center of the city;
– movie viewing, etc.
For good deeds to a neighbor and help, the teachers imperceptibly threw paper hearts into secret boxes. These hearts, supposedly real treasures of kindness, could be exchanged for treats and gifts for loved ones at the charity fair. At the end of the holidays, the children opened their boxes and received their treasures to continue sharing kindness.
Every day we deepened the topic from the perspective of the Christian commandment of love and learned to help others. There were games, catechesis, meetings with interesting people, interactive classes, master classes. Children were involved in help in the Mission, which for some became an opportunity to acquire new skills needed in everyday life.
For sure the memories of these two weeks will remain in our hearts for a long time.
As well as the understanding that helping our neighbors is the most important value.
