Have you ever seen a cow which goes to the library and can read, and the crow which is carrying out research? At our summer camp there was a theater performance based on the book Mamma Moo Reads!
Inquisitive cow Mamma Moo and her friend the Crow were invented by the Swedish writer Jujja Wieslander together with her husband Tomas in the 70s of the XX century. They appeared as heroes of children’s radio plays and songs. The idea of creating illustrated books arose quite by accident when they met the artist Sven Nordqvist. Yuya and Thomas saw his sketches of Mamma Moo and realized that they accurately convey the images created by them. The books became popular and were translated into various languages, including Belarusian and Russian. The book Mamma Moo Reads about a strange, intelligent and cheerful cow is very popular with children . How joyful it was to see a play with your favorite characters! He inspired the young theatergoers to their own creativity and creative ideas. After the performance, the children came up with their own stories and depicted them in mini-books. Everyone had the opportunity to present their book project and share their creative ideas with their friends.
